A pair of boarding houses in a woodland
setting share a
common foyer area. The client team’s vision is to eliminate
corridors by wrapping clusters of study bedrooms around a central
atrium, providing a gradation of social spaces from the privacy
of the individual room to the semi-private facilities of the cluster,
to the central common room itself. The building reflects
but does not mimic the traditional grain of the school and village,
using traditional materials in a contemporary manner |
